Welcome to the Icelandic Lutheran Marriage Encounter Homepage

Lutheran Marriage Encounter has been active in Iceland since the spring 1985. It was a gift brought to Iceland by the Lutheran Marriage Encounter in The United States of America. The first presenting couples were Americans working at the NATO-base in the town of Keflavik. Very soon enthuastic Icelandic couples took over and today four weekends are held each year, two in the winter january/february and two in the autumn october/november. To each weekend 36 couples are invited (by couples who have already attended a weekend) and there are four presenting couples, out of which one couple is a priest and his/her spouse. The weekends are always held at a hotel in Reykjavik, the capital city and are attended by couples from all over the country.
